I don't know about Cire as a girl's name. It seems mostly to be a boy's name - see http://www.gpeters.com/names/baby-names.php?load=db&name=Cire. But Circe is a Greek name of a goddess (or at least a mythological creature), so maybe Cire has been mixed up with Circe. Circe (or Kirke) was a goddess/nymph/sorceress in Greek mythology. You can read about her here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circe .The name Circe means "hawk". It can be pronounced sir'see or kir'kee.

There is also a goddess in Roman mythology called Ceres. She was the goddess of agriculture. A large asteroid has been named after Ceres.
In Greek mythology Ceres was called Demeter.

Those are the only two Greek mythology links that I can find that come close to Cire.
