people criticize you for investing a great deal of time, energy, affection and money for the well-being of your cat? Isn't it hard to explain that your own well-being is connected to the cat's well-being? Is that so strange for people to understand?

I make sure all my kitties are happy and healthy. I don't run them to the vet everytime they sneeze but I do get them checked out when I see the need. I feel that if I can't care for them financially that I shouldn't have them. I would feel terrible if there was something wrong with one of my babies and I couldn't help them. I don't worry about what other people think. They don't count when it comes to my family and how I care for them. And yes, I did go buy a gallon of milk I didn't need when they lost their last milk ring toy! What does hurt is seeing people get on here saying "my cat is dying and I can't afford a vet". Why not pawn the computer and take care of the pet. If people are going to have pets, their well-being should come first.

Criticizm from a person with no credibility is not a concern of mine. The well being of the animals that I have worked so hard to catch using a trap or otherwise is paramount....I pulled them out of a horrible situation and now I must do everything to insure their safety and health. I sometimes think that the ignorant statements from these folks is very telling in that they are the ones whose cats I am rescuing.

I agree , I take great care of my cat and make sure everything is ok , just like we do for ourselves. I do not run to ther doctor if I get a cold or have a sratch, so I do the same for my cat .Every year he gets a check up just like I do . I believe that if you take care of your pet, and love them , they will live a long and happy life . And for those people who criticize people like us, they are not animal people to begin with .

No, it doesn't bother me at all. Granted no one has ever accused me of it, but I wouldn't be bothered in the least.

If they'd like to start footing my bills for OTHER things, then I'd be happy to feel ashamed of myself. Until then.....!
