At least your Sunday best, but personally I try to do a little better than that. If nothing else, the better you think you look, the better you feel, and of course going to see a show, you want to feel your best to have the best time.
Of course, it never hurts to call the theatre and ask the dress code!
Enjoy!

For Phantom, jeans are okay especially if it's an afternoon show. There are really no restrictions, except that if it's a play or more upscale show people tend to dress up a little bit. But jeans and a nice sweater for Phantom is just fine. If you plan on dining at a nice restaurant in the area before the show, I would recommend dressing up a little bit and no jeans. Most of the nicer restaurants in the area are business casual, pants with a shirt/sweater.

They do not have actual dress codes at the Broadway shows.
Wear something that you feel comfortable in, especially something that will be comfortable to sit in for over two hours!
I would wear nice jeans, boots and a sweater. But I go to the theater all the time, so it's not a big deal for me anymore.
If you want to get dressed up and enjoy a night out on the town, then feel free to do that! You really will see people in a wide range of clothes.

Dress for whatever activity you are planning after the show. There really isn't much of a dress code for Broadway anymore. Wear something that is comfortable to sit in (tight jeans can get very uncomfortable when you sit in a small seat with no leg room in the same position for two hours). I carry a big plastic bag and put my jacket in it and shove the bag under my seat. It's uncomfortable to sit with a coat in my lap and the bag keeps my jacket clean.

speaking as someone who has actually been to that show I can tell you not everyone gets dressed up for going to the show unless your going to a fancy dinner or lunch as well. I wore nice jeans and a top and my friend wore khaki pants and a top we felt comfortable and nobody looked at us any different because in the line waiting to get in most people were dressed similar to us. I suggest not wearing anything flashy or showing to much skin and absolutely no shirts or pants with disrespecting words on them there will be children around. have fun enjoy the show and if its the phantom understudy watch out if your in the first 2-3 rows he sorta spits when he sings

I usually go dressy casual. You can wear jeans if you really want to.
I would suggest dressing up a bit more thought. Nice pants and a sweater, skirt & boots..etc.

be sure the coach is on. there's a strike happening. you could very very nearly placed on something those days. some people gown up, some people gown "intense high quality informal" and a few people flow gown down. I consistently flow in a intense high quality pair of denims, a great perfect and 2 boots. you would be happier and luxuriate interior the coach while you're gentle.
