Hi,
I have sent an apprentice to the stores, with a requisition for "A long Weight". The Storeman duly noticed this, and indeed gave him a long wait. They were out of stock.
I have just heard about spare bubbles for spirit levels, and a tin of elbow grease. Splendid !
Any more out there ?
Cheers,
Bob

My husband used to work in a bar/restaurant in a hotel when he was at uni and they used to send new staff in to the hotel's restaurant to borrow a leg of salmon or some blue steam to clean the beer pipes. I remember sending a new student nurse for a pair of fallopian tubes and a set of mammary glands from the maternity ward and also to theatre for a long stand for a drip and also a long wait for traction. I've also just remembered - the husband used to also talk about sending people for a yorkshire pudding pump and a black pudding bender.

I used to work in a supermarket butchers. This was never done to me, but while I was there we had a new lad in. The boss came over one day and sent him off to the other butchers around the town looking for a "Pudding Bender"!!! It was so funny!
