theres a rough guide of "half plus 7" that generally is accepted...

eg: if you are 30, then (30/2+7) = 22
then the youngest you should date is 22 years old, and the oldest is 46 (46/2+7)

it works proportionally to age...

I don't think we should allow society to dictate age restrictions in relationships. There is a 21 year age gap between my boyfriend and I (I'm 27). I have never been happier in my life. Just like with any relationship, it needs to have the essentials like trust, understanding, communication, interests, goals, etc. If those elements are in place, then nothing else matters. Love is the greatest feeling in the world, and age shouldn't stop anyone from experiencing it.

I think that depends on the people involved. Usually a couple thinks more the same if they are close in age but that is not always true. Some of the happiest people have a large difference in age but that is not usually the case.

Age doesn't matter at all. As long as they both love eachother and the attraction is there then that's all that counts. I am 32 and my girlfiend is 45 and exept for the menopause thing she is going through I think right now we get along just fine.

I don't know the answer to that one, but in my case.....
The biggest difference for me was 10 yrs I was 25 she was 35, it lasted for a while but I knew it wouldn't last. We were in different places totally, but it was fun while it lasted.
Now that I'm older it's kinda weird because I'm the old guy and there the young lady's.... kinda like Matthew McConaughey said in " Dazed and Confused",
" I get older and they stay the same age", it's become a true statement in my case.
So I didn't exactly answer your question but that's the best you're going to get.

My own concept of friendship or relationship is NOT predicated on trivial or mundane premises such as age, color, race, height and so forth. Rather, I believe in a relationship which is solidly errected on an uncoditional LOVE, which in turn is deeply rooted in trust.

If the older person is old enough to have been the younger one's parent then it is too much of a difference.
