Just leave the Jews alone. Christians have persecuted them for hundreds of years for something the Romans did.

Here's a Jewish point of view:
You can't go ahead and say you don't hate Jews and blame them for something serious and then say you're "cool with it".
Try not blaming us to begin with.
Update:
Actually, historically speaking, blacks also owned slaves and sold black slaves to European slave traders, so no, it just wasn't white people who were responsible for slavery.
But you know what? That is totally irrelevant. Why? Because white people do not engage in slavery in today's time nor have they for a very long time.
Yet, in this case, you seem to be hung up over something that happened almost 2000 years ago by trying to make it relevant to today's time.
And I'll even tell you why.
Christian antisemetism was based on the idea that the Jews were to blame for Jesus' death. Even though your Bible clearly states that the Romans did it and as everyone knows, the Romans were not the Jews lackies, nevertheless, an idea was developed to "absolve" the Romans of most of the wrongdoing and place the blame at the Jews doorstep.
Fortunately, in today's time, all mainstream Christian groups haved moved away from such blatant anti semetism. You seem to want to do so as well, but you seem to be still stuck on "well, its the Jews fault".
Well, maybe I won't convince you (after all, its your beliefs, not mine) but it seems just a little condescending for you to go to your Jewish friends and say, "Yes, I do blame your people for killing Jesus, but don't worry... its not YOUR personal fault."

The Romans killed Jesus...this is true (but a technicality). They killed Jesus because of Jewish influence and a push by the Jewish leadership to get ride of a "problem"
I explain to my Jewish friends that this was SUPPOSED to happen. This is prophecy which GOD Himself announced through His prohets in the OT.
Once Jesus was killed and risen, His death was for all people.
Why so many people fail to see the simplicity of this plan is beyound me. Why so many people "blame" the Jews is beyond me. The Jews did what they were supposed to have done.

It was NOT the Jewish people. It was the religious leaders and the children of the Devil. EX: I live in Amercia so I am an American. People who lived in Jerusalem were called Jews, Get it. I am not saying that there was NOT some Jewish people involved, but it was not the Jewish people who loved Christ. Christ said in Matthew that when they kill you they think that they do a service to God. I could go on and on to prove my point from the teachings of Christ backed up by the Bible, and if you want to know more let me know and I will be glad to help you understand.

I think that is a great and sensitive question - and I am not sure I can give you an answer in this limited space. But I think what you said is a great start to an ongoing dialog with your friend - and then over time just sharing your faith in God's plan from the beginning of time that includes (not excludes) His chosen people, the Jews. We all love and serve the same God, but the goal is getting them to see Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of the Scriptures - the Messiah. Keep it going - it's not an easy thing - but God has that friend in your life for a reason. :)
Merry Christmas!

Tell them the truth, It was God who really killed Jesus, He needed a prefect sacrifice, as He told them in the old testament:"the blood of goats and bulls I don't want no more" There was a need for a perfect sacrifice not only to saved the Jewish people but also the whole world. Jesus the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! He was the perfect lamb(sinless) the perfect sacrifice. God did as Abraham in the old testament and sacrifice His son, that was His plan before the foundation of the world, so He could defeat the works of the devil. The bible says that God bought the church with His own blood.

In a more positive light, they fulfilled the Scriptures so that eternal salvation might be offered to everyone and even to the vilest sinner who believes and confesses and repents.
Well, we remember in the book of Acts that the Jews were cut to the heart when Peter told the people they had crucified the Messiah, and they repented.
If God has forgiven them then we should never blame them, for who are to do so?
The answer to your question of course, is pure and simple.
LOVE.

If someone says to me "You think we killed your Saviour, don't you?" First I ask them are you asking a question or making an accusation? Or I may start off with "You look good for being 2,000 years old"
Secondly I tell them it was the false religious leaders of the day.
Next I say, "No on was able to take the life of Jesus unless he allowed it.God loved the world that He gave his one and only Son"
Then I finish up with God loves you and so do I.

First you get the facts right, the Jewish people didn't kill Jesus. Jesus Himself said. "No one takes My life from Me, I lay it down of Myself." The Jewish people were not allowed under law in those day to kill anyone. The Romans had to do it. Most Christians will tell you that it was their sins that nailed Jesus on the cross.

How about acknowledging the fact that in 2002 Pope John Paul II apologized to the Jewish nation PUBLICLY for all the atrocities committed because people believe we killed their god?
He did say we were not to blame, by the way. And please remember that the Romans did it!
I think that would make us feel much much better.
Thank you.
