and i am confused which one for whom, its meant to be one for a male and one for female, please note they are same pens except colour, male is my boss and female is only my collegeaue, does it matter which colou?if yes whats more appropriate

I don't think it really matters at all, but if you need help choosing, I think I would give the golden to the female and the silver to the male.

I don't really think it matters, but I would choose the silver for my boss, men usually prefer silver...and give your co-worker the gold, as women prefer gold. Hope this Helps you. Merry Christmas!
