I'm looking for a really good Digital Photography book that covers everything to do with taking good digital photo's.

In the past I have read other books by John Hedgecoe and Tom Ang. Both have digital books too but I havent seen or read them - I need someone to recommend me a really good, a comprehensive one that covers everything. Great for a beginner etc...

Thanks!

"The Digital Photography Book" by Scott Kelby. It will address what you are looking for in a very readable way. He covers a lot of shooting situations and important camera controls.

I also agree with the poster who suggested "Understanding Exposure" It is also easy to read and has great photos. This book doesn't get into all the nooks and crannies (ie, histograms, spot meters, and such) but it has helped me a lot with developing a better, well a better understanding of exposure.

One last thing. I don't mean this as an insult, more from personal experience, get out that camera manual and learn about all the controls.

Not necessarily a Digital Photography Book but "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson is a very good photography book.

It's probably not the best book, definitely not the most well written, but I think it's more approachable than anything else, and puts a lot of things into perspective it's just called "The Digital Photography Book" by Scott Kelby.

that beaux feller is right "digital photography for dummies" or "the complete idiot's guide to digita photography". those "for dummies" and "complete idiot's guide" books are thoroughly informative and in simple enough language that a complete knuckle dragger like myself can understand them, i recommend them for any topic a person needs instruction in.
my attorney gave me a complete idiot's guide to copyright law a couple of years ago and it is one of the most used books in my library.
