They Shouldn't!
B4 i get any hate mail.I need to state that if people want to be gay that's up2 them i don't care
BUT for them to be cheeky and so disrespectfull to want to get married in Gods house when God BLATANTLY Forbids same sex activity let alone marriage. Is wrong and sacrilegious

Half of them aren't even Christians or believe in God so why would they want his blessing?

Why can't they get married in a Mosque or Buddhist temple??
whats wrong with getting married at a gay Club??

Such an unfortunate use of words in the question but anyway...the church should not bend over backwards for any minority group but should focus on the majority that is suffering and in need of hope. I think too much energy has been wasted on the issue frankly and if they want to sit in a pew and listen then good luck but to be in a position of authority in the church when they can't get it together with their own dad in most cases is ridiculous. Most people who don't have it together shouldn't be teachers but lots of duds make it somehow and then the flock suffers. If they were elected positions I bet the sheep would pick all the right shepherds but that's just one opinion.

The church is OPEN to sinners that is why they are there in the first place. BUT the church should not bend over backwards as you say to those kind of people. I am a Christian and God did not make me a doormat for anyone. The healthy does not need a physician, only the ill

Have you checked out most of the priests, they get a kick from fiddling with alter boys, so preach what you practice. Why should it bother God who is and who is'nt. Doe's it make you feel threatened that the priest, vicar, bishop or whoever, might be hiding a little something for you after the service? When you bend over to pray do you get worried. Everyones entitled to worship, so why should'nt they accomodate gays?

I am a gay Christian.

The trouble is that the churches are teaching not what the Bible says about homosexuality, but opinions that they think the Bible teaches. I.e. the Bible does not say homosexuality is wrong if you study the passages that seem to condemn it correctly, but people in the churches have started with the opinion that homosexuality is wrong the found Bible passages that seem to agree with their opinion.

It is not the first time the church has done this it was done
1) To say the Earth was flat not round
2) To say the slavery of black people was correct.
3) To say it was OK to hate Jews
4) To say the women should be subservient to men and should not have positions of authority in the church.

Each time they have had to correct their opinion to fit what the Bible really says, not what they thought it said. It is time they did this over gay issues. For further information follow my source link below.

I've never had a problem with gays. But I feel the
radical Gay and Lesbian Lobby. Not being satisfied
with the progress that has been made in Civil Unions, and demanding Marriage rights, will backfire on them.
It is impossible to get total acceptance from Society.
There is always the odd man out, no matter what the issue. If they want to be left in peace, they have got stop
getting in other peoples faces with it!
Common sense.

The church should love the person and hate the sin.

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:8-10 (in Context) 2 Peter 3 (Whole Chapter)

The churches have been full of gays for centuries, I mean the vestments and all that camping about, heaven sent for 'em. Only now, they are actually admitting to it, in this new world of "tell it like it is" So what's the problem? It's not as if they are going to make being gay a requirement for baptism! Stay cool, The gay clergy get my vote every time. At least they are honest about who they are. Better than all the up- tight maniacs hiding behind their airs of holier than thou religiosity!

Isn't that up to the individual church? And just where are they asking the Church to bend over backwards? What I see from them in the media has to do with our Secular Gov't... not your religion.

The church should accept all people. Isn't that the crux of religion? The bible says to stone those that don't believe in the Lord. However when was the last time that you stoned an Muslim or Jew? Here you have a person that wants to believe as you do, yet you shun them because they are gay.
