I have been an LDS member my whole life. I can tell you, with utmost certainty and truth, it is the Lord's church. We love everyone - we are taught that at least :) - and we love our Heavenly Father and Savior and know that we are all God's children and should be treated that way.
Of course we want all to come unto Christ, receive the fulness of the gospel, enjoy the blessings of the Priesthood and of the temple.
Talk to the missionaries or even the ward bishop, they can answer any questions you have and help you on your way! Also, if you aren't reading the Book of Mormon, I suggest you prayerfully read it, ask your Heavenly Father if it is true and if the church is true. I promise you if you are sincere, you will receive an answer and your life will be blessed in more ways than you ever thought possible. i have to tell you though, you can get on a "spiritual high" and then it might seem like things get worse or bad - that is Satan trying to distract you from learning the truth. He knows the church is true, but does not want us having the opportunity to return to live with our Heavenly Father!
Good luck.

Yes, they like you to come, in fact it will be almost impossible to leave. They cling like leaches.
They won't tell you about the religion's beginnings and how the church elders ordered a massacre in Utah in 1857 of 120 odd men, women and children after a 'revelation' by the 'prophet' Brigham Young. The mormons blame a 'renegade' member, John D. Lee, who was executed for the crime in 1877, however, most independant historians including some who are Mormon, believe that church leaders, though never prosecuted, ordered the massacre. It seems this was not the only massacre either. The church still has 'prophets' and 'revelations' although without the unfortunate consequences of the originals.
I know other religions have also been involved in things like this in the past, which is why I find it difficult to take any of them seriously.
Be careful getting involved, you may be very disappointed eventually.

What an odd statement...The Church That Christ died for and is the good shepherd of CARES WHETHER HIS SHEEP STAY OR LEAVE.
Church of Christ does care and only teaches what the word of God says. NO man-made BOOKS or other man-made gospels that have been proven to not be authorized or authenic .
Ephesians 4:4,5,6 There is only ONE Lord, ONE Faith, ONE baptism, One God and Father of all who is above all and through all and in you all.
Please read John 6:35, 6:48 Acts 14:7; Luke 4:4; Acts 2:1-6
There are many FALSE Doctrines and GOD has warned us about them in the following verses:
2 Corinthians 11:3-15;
Malachi 3:18
Ezekiel 22:26; 44:23
Hebrews 5:14
Mark 13:22
1 John 4:1
Isaiah 8:20
Genesis 3:6 Satan convinced Eve to listened to his interpretation of God's word and this was just the beginning of man's sin, troubles, sorrows, and Death. When Eve doubted JUST ONE TRUE WORD OF GOD AND LISTENED TO THE DEVIL SHE DISOBEYED >>>>
That is all the devil needs, a slight opening, and he can creep his way in and cause people to turn from God.
The devil has sinned since the beginning---1John 3:8 John 8:44
As soon as people realize you can not GO AGAINST GOD'S INSPIRED WORD False denominations will cease.
The True Church of Christ abides by God's inspired word and ONLY his word...We do not add to or take away from them. Revelation 22 Deuteronomy 4:2 Warnings.
Satan deceives the whole world when he can Isaiah 14:12-14
RESIST THE DEVIL AND HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU James4:7
Christians are only to obey God and his holy inspired word.
Acts 2--Christ's Church was established and the LORD ADDED to the church...Romans 6:1,2,3,4 Immersed in Baptism.
Christian and member of the Church of Christ in Pa.
Love to study the Bible with you,

Okay firstly I have good points and bad points for LDS:
Good Points:
1)They are usually awsome nice to people especially members.
2)They have wonderful youth programs for their kids.
3)They are very family orinted and belive in strong family ties.
4)They are very strong in their need to do missionary work
5)They are really into geneology and recording history.
Bad points:
1)Once you are a member you are one for life. Missionaries for years to come will visit your home and try to bring you back to the church.
2)They are very strict in how they live their lives. This ranging from what you can and can't eat, drink, wear, listen to, watch on TV or the Movies and when you can do these things.
3)The church likes to handle some issues by itself that should be handled by outside athorities.
4)Women can not hold the priesthood and can only be teachers.
5)The major belief that only members are sealed to each other and can go to the highest form of heaven. Where as those who are non members can only be in the lower part. Not to nice a picture for mixed religion families. (Also leading to baptisms for the dead which is basically converting your dead family members or others family members to mormonism by being baptised in their place.)
6)African Americans were not allowed to hold the priesthood until the 1970's.
The best thing I can add to this is to do some real research on the traditions and doctorine of the church to make up your mind because becoming a member is a commitment no matter what any missionary or member tells you. Don't join the church for the people but for what it stands for otherwise it can be the worst or best thing that has ever happened to you!

Most Mormons are very GOOD people. Just like other good Christians, they love Heavenly Father, they love Jesus Christ, and they love each other.
I became Mormon several years ago and I am happier now than I have ever been. Mormons believe that we are all spirit brothers and sisters and that we need to help each other return to God.
Before I became Mormon, I was very sick with my first baby. I didn't attend church for several months and figured that "all my new Mormon friends" had forgotten about me by then. I didn't tell anyone at the Mormon church that I was sick, but somehow they found out. Before I knew it, Mormon women were bringing food over, and cleaning my house and even sitting with me to talk while doing my laundry. I couldn't believe it!! They did these things for me without asking for anything in return.
I LOVE Mormon people. I can't understand why other people say such bad things about them. They are not a cult. They simply believe that God still talks to his children, that He still gives us new scriptures and new commandments for these difficult days that we are living in.... and that we, God's children, have great potential to become like Him someday... All He asks of us is to live like His son, Jesus Christ. And through service and love for each other, that is what Mormons try to do.

MY church is small in a small community. Everyone there is like family. They embraced me and my kids and husband whole heartedly. We only started going there about two and a half years ago before we got married and both of us had kid of our own and living together but engaged.
They accepted us, and with the grace of true Christians forgave us for our obvious sin and celebrated our marrige with us. They are kind and good people.
That's what I like about SMALL churches. I've been in the large ones that have all the lights and spendour and large crowds of faithful. Good. Glad it works for THEM.
Find a small church where there are only a few members so that they can know your face and notice when your not there. They will care and will be glad when you do come again.
I don't know about the Morman Church but when my sister was going there she became SO uppity and full of herself i couldn't stand her. But then that was just an enhance ment on her personality and may have nothing to do with the Mormans.
GOOD LUCK WITH THAT
AND GOD BLESS

I am not putting the Mormans down, I would never do that as all can choose whatever faith they wat to believe. I am a Christian and to use your faith for an example, or mine, the Devil does his greatest work in the Pulpit. Ever notice that people who does his work are never bothered by him, and why should he do so as he will not work against himself. They seem to have everything go their way and have the life of comfort, but read Psalm 37 and you will see that it is only temporary. They have their reward on earth and that is all they will ever have. Remember I said that this applies to my faith also, so I am not being rude to you. I know this is in more depth then you wanted, but it is the only way I feel that I should answer and be honest about it. Have a great day. Politicians promise you the world also until they get into office, right?

It is always important to feel welcomed to a church. At our church, a baptist church, when someone visits, we have them fill out a visitors card then during the week, visit them at home. We let them know that their attendance to our church meant alot to us and that we would love to have them come back.
But, it is also important that you attend a church that is working to save souls and one that worships God, leads people to Christ and teaches from the Holy Bible.
My understanding is that Mormons not only teach from the bible, but have an 'extention' to it. According to scripture, you are not suppose to add or take away from the bible. If I am correct, they believe that someone found 'more scripture' written by Jesus somewhere in ice or snow. I don't know how true this is, but what is really important in serving God is that YOU follow him, that YOU come to him through Jesus Christ and that YOU continue to do his will. Read your bible, pray to him, and ask him to guide you on your task of finding a place to serve him and worship him. :-)

Be care full, because their teachings disagree with what the Bible says.
Never think a church is a good church just because the people in there are nice, the most important thing is if they are teaching "EVERY THING ACCORDING WITH THE BIBLE"!
GOD BLESS YOU!

why don't you try to find a copy of god makers 1 and 2, then you'll see the truth BEHIND the lds, or just go here
http://www.chick.com/reading/books/126/126cont.asp
and read this book, or parts of this book online..
wait till you hear of blood atonement [they usually don't talk about it till after you're a member, or baptism of the dead [they baptize you for a dead loved one wich is totally unbiblical], they also think jesus christ and satan are brothers wich came from a planet called kolog, and if you're a good mormon you become a god..
are they nice people? yes.. but they are mislead and do not know the truth
