The Holy Scriptures say that "Man was made a little higher than angels." Angels are "servants". When we pray we mobilize the angelic hosts in our behalf to aid us supernaturally. But they cannot respond unless we pray and command them. Since we have been given the role of "commanders", then we (Humankind) are "above" the angels.

There are two types of Angels, at least of the good variety, the first being those beings who have lived and died, either resurrected or not, and return to the earth with some divine purpose such as a message of some sort which relates to their lives on earth.
The second are those which have not been born yet but for some reason or another are divinely commissioned to come to earth to share a message from on high.
Examples: We know the angel Michael, was none other than Adam, Noah - Gabriel, and there were others as well.
One somewhat personal example I have is one my aunt shared with me. Before her children, my cousins, were born, they each came to her in a dream and spoke with her ad told her what there names were to be - one boy and two girls.
In short, angels are human beings that do not live on earth, whether before or after their mortal life here on earth it doesn’t matter. They are human beings children of God just as we are and as no good parent favors one child over the next we are all equal rank in the sight of God.

The Bible tells us (Hebrews 2:9), "But we do see Him who has been made for a little while lower than the angels, namely Jesus.." Of course He is now exalted above all things (Phillippians 2:10) "that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow...". We are currently lower than the angels but we have a future "into which angels long to look" (1 Peter 1:12). The day will come when we will "judge angels" (1 Corinthians 6:3).
So to conclude, we are currently lower than the angels but one day will be exalted by God to a status higher than the angels.

well if angels are real then there is a god which means they are people that were chosen by god to be that. A perfect person that is always following and acting on behalf of god in a perfect manner. So they would carry the higher rank..
Angels usually had a flaw in there life and chose to turn there lives to work on gods side 150%.

I've heard people say angels are servants to humans.
I think angels are the spirits that didn't fall from heaven.
Jesus said in the resurrection, we are just like the angels.
There are Archangels that lead certain groups of angels,
like Michael who is Gods Chief Warrior spirit.

While we are in the flesh angels are greater. After our resurrection we will judge angels.
Luke 7:28
For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
Luke 7:27-29 (in Context) Luke 7 (Whole Chapter)
1 Cor. 6: 3Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

neither, we were made a little lower than the angels yes but we are also made in the likeness of God and will one day judge the angels, furthermore when John bowed before the feet of the angel in Revelation the angel told him to get up and not worship him because he was a servant just as John was. There isnt any rank we are fellow servants.
