No. If you let the airline know you have a peanut allergy when you're booking your flight, they will add what is called a Special Service Request (SSR) to your record for the airport to see. If you aren't seated in a no-peanut zone, you will be moved to it.
Airlines cannot control what others bring onto the plane, so if you're sitting near me and I'm eating a Pay Day bar (which I normally do), they would need to find a new seat for one or the other of us.

I don't think the airline will do any extra cleaning of the plane, because from my experiences after a plane lands and it is cleaned, its pretty well cleaned, but in the case that you are boarding a flight that is a stop-over, then i guess the airline will do some additional cleaning, they may put you in a seat up front and make sure that is an area where no peanuts are served, but because your making a special request the airline is limited to the amount of things they can do, you also have to take a look of the exclusions that the airline has.

I'm not sure about the cleaning thing, but I do know that airlines take peanut allergy seriously. You need to alert them when you make the reservation. There will be no peanuts served on the flight. My friend has this prob and she simply alerts the airline ahead of time.

You alert the agent at check in and they will seat you either up front in the first row of your cabin, or aft of the same. If the airline you are flying provides peanuts to the passengers, they will not offer them to the two~three rows in front or behind your row.
