These could be broken hairs or baby hairs that have grown back after being unnaturally shed. Look at the ends of each hair: are they blunt or thin and pointed. Generally, older hairs have thinner, pointier ends. Hairs that have been broken have blunt, and often split ends. Pay close attention to how you care for your hair:
Like paper, hair is much weaker when wet, so it's never a good idea to brush wet hair. Combing with a wide-toothed comb is a much better way to detangle hair. Brushes snag and pull hair, causing shedding, breakage, and tangles.
When you dry your hair, blot it with a towel instead of rubbing it. The friction once again causes shedding, breakage, etc.
How do you care for your hair during the day? Try to eliminate your hair's exposure to things that may damage it, such as seatbelts, certain hats, doors, wind, etc.
Your hair is also succeptible to damage during the night. It's a good idea to secure hair during this time, whether in a bun, braid, or sleepcap. Using a silk or satin pillowcase is a good idea as well.
Heat can also cause breakage. If you clowdry or iron your hair, you may want to consider toning it down a bit. Each hair consists of about 11% water. Water boils at 100 F/C. Blowdriers, and irons especially, heat up to much higher than that. In short, the water inside your hair boils and tries to escape. It can do this through either the cuticles (scale-shaped structures that make up each hair) or through a break in the hair. Both of these ways are damaging, since extreme heat breaks off cuticles (which, unlike skin, cannot grow back). Since cuticles make up the structure of your hair, their loss significantly weakens it, making hair very prone to breaking (and then splitting, and then damaging other healthy hair). A boil does the same thing with more damage. Hair is no different than skin other than that skin has nerves and can regenerate. Other than that, the two are very similar.

Watch what you eat. It could be the cause for your hair lost. Eat plenty of fishes. Reason for the short hair is you've new hair growth. Do not stick with one brand and type of shampoo. Have about 3-4 varities. Another contributing factor for hair lost could be the use of same brand and type of shampoo for too long.

These are probably new or 'baby' hairs. You loose around 100 hairs a day, so don't worry they are probably just replacement hairs.
