I have been on this site for 5 months & only ask about 6 questions about religion, Is that spreading the word, I don't need to ask questions, I usually answer questions to help someone. But you do have a good question, It is because many denomination has left Jesus outside, & brought in their bingo games & soup suppers, & Church fairs, & picnics in order to try to get them into church. I don't see that anywhere in the bible where a church had to do those things, All they did was preach truth & the word itself got out.

maybe it's the dreaded PP... peer pressure. *gasp*
well, i think that spreading the word of Christianity so strongly might be censoring other faiths or rather conforming people to Christianity too early, before they get to know what else is out there. i live in Australia, Christianity is a big thing here too... my fellow Christians, you're nearly there!
ha, in a way, we're spreading the word too... afterall, any publicity is good publicity.

In the U.S., everyone has heard of George W. Bush, but that doesn't mean that everyone is a fan or advocate of George W. Bush. In fact, there are many people who dislike and oppose George W. Bush (myself included) for any number of reasons.

The fans of George W. Bush work to keep the fans that he has, and to make new ones. When you care about something, you want to share it with the whole world (even if some of that world doesn't want to hear about it).

as of this time there are still many people in the world who do not know about chrisstianity and not everyone know it. so the word of God must be spread to the whole word so that non believers will believe and those who do not know about it may know and follow and believe

Wow good question, In my case it's more of letting people know who has the actual direct authority of Jesus. Besides that Everyone knows about Jesus, but everyone also has a different opinion and wants some else to share in that opinion, regardless of how wrong it may be.

Good question. I don't know. Maybe they think only their version is right, so therefore whatever version you heard before must be wrong.
Seems to work that way in here.

I know what you mean. I am a Christian Gnostic. My conservative, baptist Grandmother keeps trying to convert and "win me over to Christ"! She doesn't understand when I tell her that she doesn't need to "win me over" because I'm already here! Christians will try to convert anyone who doesn't believe exactly what they believe, even if they are just of another Christian denomination.

It doesn't always take the first time someone hears it. And Jesus told us to spread the word even to the uttermost parts of the earth.

Because it's what Jesus Christ said to do. Spread the gospel.
