Damping means some form of energy dissipation.

A lot of day to Day applications require damping. In circuit design it is essential to build circuits which have an nderdamped response in order to achieve stable circuits.

Its a method to make hens lay more eggs. Basically, the roosts (where the hens lay) are sprayed with a mixture of baking soda and water as a mist. Over time, it has been found that the hens lay up to twice as many eggs and the non-damped hens; thus, its usefulness is in its economic advantage.
