Our 3-yr-old BT can snore loud enough to make the windows rattle! Fortunately, that doesn't happen often. Usually, he sleeps through the night without a sound. When he does start to snore, we just rub his leg or his stomach for a few seconds. It wakes him momentarily, and he takes a deep breath before falling into quiet sleep. Well... most of the time! :-)

Turn up your alarm, put in ear plugs, take a sleeping pill and enjoy. Only other option is to 86 the dog to the living room. Boston Terriers snore so do pugs and other short snouted dogs.

the more squashed the face the more they are gonna snore. but also make sure he doesn't have any heart problems, bronchial problems, palette issues or nasal issues. people will assume because of the breed this is normal which it is, but other issues go unnoticed. so just a quickie to the vet at some point in the future to be sure your lil pal is healthy. good luck and get some sleep!!! PS invest in a humidifier and put where you dog sleeps, this will help out a bit.

this is an easy one....bostons along w pugs, boxers, bulldogs, etc etc are whats known as bronchial symphtec(sp) breeds basically their faces & noses are pushed in & hence the have a shorter pallet & nasal cavity so this causes snoring. A LOT of snoring, my pug snores SO loud sometimes I she wakes me up & I have to make her change positions so she will stop!!! your boston will ALWAYS snore for the rest of his lil life & so will any other boston you get.....its what they do!!! LOL LOL tip:: invest in ear plugs or plan on puttin the lil guys bed in another room

Mine snores like crazy! It does help to change his position sometimes, but he eventually starts again. My vet said that he could do a minor surgery to open the nasal passages (basically by cutting a little bit of his nose off), but I haven't done that. I think you'll just have to learn to live with it.

It's normal for the breed. However, if it's really bad, you should take him to the vet to make sure he doesn't have an elongated soft palate or nares (nostrils) that need to be surgically widened.

hahahaha ...yes it is normal
the Boston terrier is one of the Brachycephalic Breeds
Brachycephalic dogs have been bred so as to possess a normal lower jaw, that is, one in proportion to their body size, and a compressed upper jaw.
I feel for you because i also have a Snorer ....She even beats my hubby ...
