we met online while playing yahoo pool and i was strangely attracted to his mind and just the way he thinks. we exchanged phone numbers and began talking over the phone and through texts, and lately i found myself falling for him. could this be true love? or is it just lust and excitement of having found someone new? he intends to fly down next year.

You can...I actually met my husband online..it's crazy becuase no we didn't met...i only like him like a friend for the longest time...i flew to see him (dangerous thing to do though....if your going to meet and he lives states away make him fly to see you were you have ur family and friends.) yes i chanced it and just like he was online (we talked on the phone for a long time) and on the phone he was and is still the sweetest man ever. and believe it or not he's the only guy that i've been with that truly loves me and cares for me..we're married for 3 yrs..and expecting our first baby and can't be happier!! and i'm soo in love with him!! but like i said..i took a dangerous chance by meeting him by myself...and he turned out to be the man of my dreams still...but you be safe about it :)..and the best of luck with whatever you do...Just wanted to give you a "i know how you feel" story :).

I don't think so. There is no way to truly get to know someone except in person. It's important to spend actual physical time with that person to find out if you are compatible or even attracted to each other. You may become infatuated with someone you meet online. You may find them interesting, funny, intelligent, or mysterious, but you can't truly know someone until you've met face to face. There are actual steps to falling in love and, as much as we may hate to admit it, it almost always begins with mutual physical attraction. Without that, online infatuation will almost always die off. However, it is completely possible that there will be an attraction that could possibly lead to true love.

I personally don't think you can be in love with someone until you've been around them in real life. But it can be a great start, it's the same as if you guys had already had a few dates. My cousin met her husband online... It's not a loser-ish thing. Sooo many people are doing that nowadays, because it's just easier. You don't feel as nervous and you can let your actual personality shine through, whereas when you meet someone in a bar, you're all concerned with first impressions.

You are not in love. Love is when you know for sure that you will stick with the guy when you find out that:
He has cancer.
He has some other terminal illness.
He is paralyzed for life.
He lost his arms and legs.
He has vomit in his hair and you don't mind cleaning it.
He is bankrupt.
He lost his job.
He is at his worst.
What you are experiencing is a connection. You are not in love. When you can say that you will stick with him through his worst times, then you can say that you are in love with him.

yes I believe you can. i met my boyfriend on the net in uk pool.
We live close to each other and decided to meet, he is not the best looking guy in the world but he has a fantastic sense of humour and has the best heart in the world. If you can have half of what I have you will be happy. Go for it girl

We Human beings never know when do we fall in LOVE with strangers. it's nothing but Emotions..... We have to think with our minds and not with our hearts..... If you like him, Go further... If you think you both can do well in the future and made for each other, Go further more. It's sometimes nice and intimate feelings to fall in love with someone you like and chat and miss.....

It's not true love that's for sure. You're just fantasizing that it's true love. Although love can develop after spending some time with him (in the real world)... that is if you still like him after seeing him in person and after seeing his flaws..
