Agree with DW, its not necessarily a question of electrical, as many electronics work with either 220v or 110v (or if not, you could easily obtain an electrical converter). Although the camcorder would function, it would requre NTSC compatible media, which would make it a pain to use in Europe, and certainly not compatible with European media. I'm not aware of any PAL compatible camcorders sold here in the US. I wouldn't buy a camcorder here if I were you. The ipod should be fine, as DW mentioned.

There is no general answer to this question. Best check the technical specifications and make sure the item works for both ntsc and pal/secam and check that it will run off 110V and 220/230 Volts.

No.
The UK is the centre of the universe (much to the disdain of Copernicus) and all the planetary ley-lines emanate from Stonehenge. One of the properties of ley-lines is that they generate magnetic fields. This, in practical application, means that the closer you are to Stonehenge, the more volts you need to power any electric or electronic device. It also explains why the american dollar is worth less than the pound sterling.

TV uses a different system. The voltage and frequency are different. So generally the answer in no.

Some equipment is dual voltage and can be used in the UK, but check before you plug it in. Chargers for iPods and phones are normally a fixed voltage, so you can't use US ones in the UK.
