I shave my legs during shower. I use soap, lather it then shave off. Is this bad for the skin?

if you have to use soap, i suggest you wait until the END of your shower to shave your legs...the water and the heat from the shower will allow the hairs on your legs to soften...just like men do when they shave their face, the softer the hairs are, the less likely you are to get razor burn or cut yourself...also it will open up the pores in your skin and you will get more of the hair!

make sure to apply lotion shortly after the shower too so the lotion can soak up in your skin while the pores are still open

Shaving does make the skin dry. instead of putting soap on ur legs when shaving, use a conditioner. After u get out of the shower u have to dry and moisturize ur skin everytime and don't forget to exfoiliate your legs at least once a week to avoid getting ingrown hair and keep your skin soft.

Ofcourse it causes dryness of the skin. Being a skin expert i strongly suggest you not to shave any part of your body. If you have no other option, then just go for it and apply Hair Minimizing Lotion of Jhonson & Jhonson Company and then massage for atleast 3 to 5 minutes.

It's useful to apply some oil (preferably olive oil) to skin and then soap and shave. This leaves the skin smooth and helps address dryness.

Well no not really. Shaving cream or not i do the same as you do except i would use some sort of cream or lotion after you get out just to keep the skin cells alive.

Your procedure is correct. However be cautioned on the type of soap you used. Avoid one with perfume and alcohol. They can cause skin dryness. Best to use show cream that is soap-free.

If you going to do that then make sure you lather it up more than you would normally.
THEN

it is bad for your skin if you are not using a soap that is moisturized or is not for your skin type.. if your legs are really dry or you get little bumps on your legs after showering, use some hand lotion or body moisturizer. it will help your skin breath and your skin will not be so cracky and dry. even aftershave works for dry oily skin!!

After you've dried yourself off, & while your skin is still slightly damp, then apply hour hand/body creme at once; it will lock in the moisture from the water......any low to moderately priced hand/body creme will do the trick; don't waste your money on fancy, high-priced cremes!! look for glycerin and even plain old cocoa butter...try it....

Yes but if you put lotion on your legs as soon as you get out of the shower then you won't have to big of a problem!
