the honest answer is the instant feeling of knowing the operson followed by the physical need. sometimes love end after knowing the person completely , his lieks dislikes etc and the attraction ends. Some for ethical point of view stick to person saying that they still in love.
Bottomline is ther burning desire should be there for the love to exist ot it dies off

Short answer: it facilitates the breeding process. More little 'uns means passing on your DNA, something all species know or else they wouldn't be a species for long.

duh. its called feelings. do you fall in love? everyone does. that is why you and me are born. that is why there is george w bush and saddam hussein. no one can avoid that. even monkeys fall in love. crocodiles, and other insects, mamals, predators, etc.
