Chances are that if a species of alien evolved to the top of its food chain on its homeworld it is a predator. So more than likely the species we encounter would be predatory. Combine a predatory nature with the technology and physics necessary to travel vast distances in space and you have a very formidable foe indeed. I would say that there would be no chance of escape. We would become like the Chinese river dolphin that was discovered to have been extinct this week after a successful 20 million year run, until humanity supplanted their environment. Scientifically speaking, humans are not snowflakes, we are not special, and aliens would not be awed by us in any manner whatsoever. We still burn dead plants and animals for our main energy source (hydrocarbons). We are, cosmically speaking, a speck. We are simply animals at the top of the food chain that can be easily replaced by a badder predator. They would definitely qualify. So hope there are no aliens in the neighborhood.

No. Smart aliens will simply infect the whole human population with a highly contagious leathal virus with a 10 day incubation period. We will all be dying like flies before we realize we have been done in.

It really depends on how organized and powerful the aliens are. Remember that old sci-fi story where the evil aliens land on earth, ready to take over everything -- and then they get eaten by a dog before they can do anything?
I think you have to define the alien powers before you can determine if they can take over the earth. I have a feeling that even if they are more advanced than us, we'd have some tricks up our sleeve to show them. Norovirus, anyone?

They cannot touch the earth,as thousands of satellites are watching over us and if anything strange moves near to the earth,we have our nuclear and hydrogen bombs and laser weapons to **** them off.
