My two year old chihuahua began vomiting and shivering tonight. He's bringing up what appears to simply be saliva and mucus but he's also keeping his tail tucked down, crying at times, and just "not himself". How concerned should I be at this point?

If he is the same in the morning, get him to the vet. meanwhile only give clear broth or water... He might feel better to sleep on a towel-covered heating pad, set very low, if you have one for tonight.

I think you should be concerned. He could have a number of things wrong. Possibly parasites. My chihuahua had tonsillitis when he was vomiting. He needs to go to the vet.

Get the dog to a animal hospital immediately he may have been poisoned. Houseplants plans are poisonous. Or it may have been done by someone on purpose.

You might want to take him to the vet. Dogs dog behave this way unless it's really ill.
