It seems that it would be a time to rejoice if the afterlife is the reward for all the hard work of living without sin.

I'm not a Christian, and apologize if I make them look bad.

most people are not right with God, and are going to hell, even most christians, it is taboo because people are scared to die, mainly because tey are not sure of their afterlife [heaven or hell] for a christian, a REAL christian there is no sting in death, but to all those who think they are christians they have not listened to Jesus's own words "not everyone who calls to me Lord Lord shall be saved" and they have not listened to what the bible says in one of the pauline epistles " examine yourselves wehether you be in the faith"

Being married, any female different than my spouse is taboo. If I wasn't already married, there'd be no taboo. In my time (and it particularly is a tremendously long term) i've got dated females of various races, of diverse religions, consisting of Catholic, Baptist, Anglican, Jewish and Muslim. i've got not dated boys, except you count form going out and having relaxing, and back there've been various religions and a few have been gay. I stay in a liberal society that tolerates all, and would not frequently seek for to regulate human beings or deprive them of non-public freedoms and human rights. thinking how society became decrease than a hundred years in the past, i think i'm fortunate to be living now and the place I stay.

Death being a taboo sounds American, but predominately Christian? Are you talking about the same country?

A popular hymn contains the words "When I die, Hallelughia by and by! I'll fly away!"

Death is not taboo. We (Christians) know that when we die, we will go to heaven, so we know that it will be wonderful for each Christian individual when they go. However, when an individual goes through physical death and goes to heaven, the loved ones they leave behind on earth miss them horribly. This is not taboo, it's just a lousy part of physical death.

And who said that Christians 'live without sin'? I don't think you have read the bible, but you should. Jesus loves you as he loves us all, and you would benefitr greatly from getting to know him.

Be well.

I'm not sure what "society" you're talking about. My family and friends have no taboo about death. We are sad when someone dies because we will miss them....until we see them again.

Who says death is taboo? People do it all the time.

I don't think its a taboo, or anything near it, but people are just sad to see their loved ones die. Regardless that "they're in a better place" it still is sad to see them go.

Great question. Some African Americans actually celebrate when someone passes. They''ll have a wake and celebrate.

That's interesting.

I'm still not quite there, but I think it's right.

No need to agree with the spirit of anti-christ. Read the Bible.
