No Nikon doesn't. For me this is not an issue, because a lens is at it sharpness towards the center not around the edges.
The issue for me is that Nikon CAN take older manual focus lens, they didn't screw photographer who spent 1000s of dollar on lens by changing their lens mount.

Nikon does not. I did not see the need for full frame. With Photoshop one is cropping most of the time anyway.

I chose to stick with the Canon 30D. Tell you why. I wanted a professional feel and build to the camera but wanted to keep my 10-22mm EFS lens (5D would not take it). I love the wide angle that affords me and it now sells for about $600. I bought it at $900. Also the 5D is truly a full frame, I did not see that making the double the cost difference.

I also did not buy the 400 XTi. That is a pretty nice camera and has 10 megapixels vs the Canon 30D with 8.2, but the sensor space is the same. Thus the extra 2 megapixels really were squeezed in the same area. The 400XTi felt small in my hands and it is plastic. I know, it seems like a piddling difference but the 30D is a grownup feel and the magnesium body.

The 30D also has spot metering which I like. It can push up to ISO 3200. I shoot in candle light so that is a plus.

The eyepiece on the 30D was bigger than the 400XTi, also. A plus for us with glasses.

With the 30D and an Ultra II CF card, I can shoot 3-5 frames per second almost continuously. Fills cards pretty darned quickly.

The minus is that the 30D RAW really needs the Canon DDP software to convert. Not a bad software program but I was scared the first time I saw my old RAW converter did not work.

No, they don't. The crop factor is only a problem for me when trying to shoot wide angle. 18mm should be decently wide but with the crop factor, it is effectively a 28mm lens.
