Thanks to the modern age of mass communication, there is hardly a person who has not heard about Jesus and the Bible. Well, maybe there are such people, but chances are, you'd have to live in a really deeply isolated corner of the world!
I mean, Hollywood movies feeds us little morsels of Biblical references - both directly and subliminally.
And unlike the cloak-and-dagger-and-espionage era of the 1980s, pop stars today openly sing about and talk about Jesus.
It is no longer unusual to see adverts that contain obvious Christian content.
And we know that politicians (and their weapons) do the talking and preaching for us too.
So, with the 'giant forces' doing the preaching for you, what else is there to tell the world? And is preaching about quality - or is quantity all there is to it?
Note: Of course, people still have to make up their own minds. I am aware of that. Also, it is said that The Spirit is a gentleman and doesn’t force people to believe.

The only problem though is that many politicians use religion as a way to get more votes, yet have no beliefs themselves. Religion is a very powerful tool if used properly in our society today.
As for it being obsolete...it is beginning to come to that in our society today. People don't like to be told that they're sinners, though thats what we all are. They dont want to be reminded of their sin and its penalty. I have known of preachers who are now being told by their local governments that they cant preach on certain sins, like homosexuality, abortion, and the such, and have been jailed for it.
Will it ever be eliminated? No. Christ said His word will never be removed or taken away, but though His word is still being taught, the preaching may become so watered down and pathetic that it may as well be.
If you were a bible scholor, you'd be able to tell that about 90% of hollywood biblical movies are not completely scriptural and love to add special effects to make the movie more appealing, rather than take it word for word of what happened straight from the Bible.
For instance, I have seen a lot of previews for the new movie "The Nativity", and that along the way they're like crossing a river or something and Mary almost drowns or something of the sort....that's no where in the Bible or even eluded to. All it is, is hollywood spin.
Now, let me ask you this so you can think on it a little. With all the stars and politicians proclaiming publically God and His love and mercy and all of that....do they ever mention a single thing about sin or the audience as sinners? I havent, and its a shame. They have a great potential to be an influence, but they don't want any controversy and keep it watered down that they're even a believer. Until they start publically telling people that they need forgiveness for their sins, then I doubt you'll get rid of us preachers.

Error isn't the opposite of truth it's anything less than the truth. Unholywood feeds bits of truth in only a lesser degree than do tv evangelists. Everyone has been exposed to error, but not everyone has been exposed to the true gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who have ears to hear know truth when they hear it. The modern gospel is a partial gospel. It is this gospel which is being preached today and the tares, those who believe that it will save them, are being gathered together. God will reach all those whom he has called.

- You'r looking to the left & right to much, you should be looking up. The world will reck it for us every time. JESUS, its all about JESUS, get the verticals right, and the horrizonals will fall into place every time & not trip you up, or make us want to pull our hair out as much, YO ! ! !
