The chicken. Because if the egg came first, then there would be nothing to provide warmth to it so it wouldn't hatch. And, if it did ever hatch, nothing would feed it. So of course it's the chicken.

To all that say egg you are right, the chicken came from the egg. It is a form of evolution that gave us the chicken. But not chicken little that was a twisted mind. This funny looking bird laid an egg and a chicken or chickens came forth

Okay, this is my personal philosophy:
Now, according to evolution a chicken-related animal would have had to lay an egg and then the embryo would have mutated (or evolved) into the present day "chicken". So, therefor, the egg came first. I mean, a chicken can't just appear out of nowhere. It would have had to have come from an egg laid by a creature that wasn't quite a chicken but very genetically close to one, then it would have developed into a chicken.

Hen (chicken )came first just because God created it so that she procreated through put out eggs for perpetuation of the species.
