It's not about sleeping less, it's about improving the quality of your sleep. If you want to do your best to guarantee a good night's sleep, then make sure your curtains are dark enough to block out natural light, you don't sleep listening to music or a television, that all electrical items which 'hum' are switched off (you should do this anyway) and that you have a decent pillow - one which supports the natural curve of your spine. Ensure that the room is not too hot and there is a natural flow of air throughout the room. Make sure you're in bed at least 30 minutes before you want to fall asleep. Reading can be optional but can sometimes switch the brain on too much before sleep comes. And finally, if all else fails, you can try some of the natural herbal remedies available on the market (although I've always found these to be pointless). Good luck - there's nothing on earth better than a good night's sleep (apart from, maybe, sex...!!!)

While it is a fact that you can not deprive your body of sleep, you can definitely program your body for quality sleep. You need identify your bio clock and sleep cycles (you can read up on this subject). If you time your sleep properly i.e entry into sleep and wake up time coinciding with sleep cycle, then you can feel fresh.

Only an idiot would think that they could improve their quality of life, by sleeping less.
Sleep deprivation is widely used as a form of torture- so doesn't that tell you anything?
You shouldn't mess with your sleep patterns. You'll be sorry!!!

if you can force yourself to exercise in the morning you'll feel alot less sleepy all day. but dont deny yourself sleep if your body needs it - it will only catch up with you and you'll feel knackered
