Considering the fact that no matter how much you spend on your stereo equipment, you'll never get your money back, and eventually those components will end up in the trash or in someone's salvage yard, I say buy what you can afford!

I see no problem with buying what you need from Walmart. You get what you pay for, but then again, does everyone need a Corvette to get from point a to point b, or will a Scion, or Kia, or Hyundai also get the job done?

One thing that may help you is to go to a mobile audio installer and tell them what your budget is. They might be able to offer you some equipment at reduced pricing that is a little better quality than the brands Walmart offers.

At any rate, don't let anybody here tell you what you should or shouldn't buy, unless they are willing to foot the cash for what they suggest. Put the best system together that you can afford to and enjoy listening to it!

it ought to get loud, yet that asserts no longer some thing about its high quality. If the frequency variety is for sale ascertain it is going down a minimum of to 40 Hz. If it truly is 60, it isn't a subwoofer. one hundred seventy 5 RMS watts is nice. 500 top is almost with out which skill, in case you want music and not in any respect a large number of distortion.

This whole term "you get what you pay for" is so overplayed.

It's all a matter of set-up. I can put the worst Wal-Mart subs and put them in a well designed box and they will outperform $800 subs in a crappy box.

It's all in the design....

___________

I have some good ol' Blaupunkt TSw1200 subs with a Sony Xplōd XM2200GTX.

The amp is 200 watts RMS X 2 @ 4 ohms, subs are 200 watts RMS each.

The enclosure I have them wiped out two other systems that were "high dollar" and claimed to push more than 800 watts RMS each.

I'm not saying mine was louder, but a lot better sounding.

well Wal-mart sells the same stuff from the poineer line that Best Buy does. however most things at Wal-mart, Best Buy, and Circut city are not very good. if i were you i would go into a private shop, and listen to what they have to offer. then after finding a brand/sub i liked, go on ebay and buy it. here are some brands i would recomend you listen to.

Boston Acoustics
MB Quart
Pioneer Premier
Kenwood Excelon
Eclipse

on ebay you can get a Boston Acoustics G2 12" for about $100. trust me when i say thats a steal. best sounding woofer under $400. and thats a fact. it aint the loudest, but damn is it clear and clean.

Walmart subwoofers?? that's the LAST place I'd go for audio equip. and accessories.

I suggest Best Buy or Circuit CIty Instead for a better selection, plus they probably have holiday sales on them right now.

I agree with lemar J and sparky. Wal Mart speakers are cheaper if you're on a budget and most of their brands are still made by big named manufacturers like audiobahn, Sony, and Rockford Fosgate.

If you're on a budget i'd recommend using craigslist or someother classified paper to find used stereo equipment. In my experience, you get more for your money w/ used stuff than w/ brand new crap. Just be wary of the condition of product that you choose to purchase.

Wal-Mart has the very low brow end of the major sub manufacturer’s line. "Lightning Audio" is Rockford Fosgate's Wal-Mart brand. The "DUB" line of subs is Audiobahn's Wal-Mart brand of subs. Like I said, either one is low brow and some sound fine, some sound extra muddy and blow out very easily.

Wal-mart? I think it is better if you purchased your gear someplace else. Just remember that you get what you pay for.
