there's this guy that I've been seeing for about 6 months. we haven't been talking (we had a difference of opinion and he shuts down) for about a week now but he hasn't asked for his key back. Should I assume the relationship is over and just give him his key or should I stop by his place to talk, so I know for sure it's over?

If you have things at his place send a text saying when can I pick up my stuff? or when would you like to get your key back? His reply should show you his state of mind and he will be a little panicked if he didn't intend it to be that serious. It sounds like you don't want it to be over so you need to do something sooner rather than later.

If you feel like he is worth the effort and there is potential there- go ahead and talk to him. It can't hurt anything. If you are tired of being jerked around emotionally then just drop off the key and be done with it. 6 months is a while, but not that long in the grand scheme of things. Only you know if it is worth fighting for- but remember, you deserve to be fought over. You deserve to have an effort made for you. Ask yourself why he has not. Good luck.

Assume nothing. He may just have been having a bad day and wishes it had never happened. Drop over and visit, have a coffee and chat and see what eventuates. You may get the chance to throw his key in his face or he may beg your forgiveness. If you don't go you'll never know.

Do you still want to be with him? If you do, talk to him. If he shuts down when you get in an argument and doesn't talk to you for a week, is that someone you really want to deal with? No one stays mad for that long over an everyday argument.
