how long hav u bin goign out....if for not a while....like 1 ot two months....maybe her favorite dvds and chocolates....buut if for longer something more meaningful loads of flowers delivered to her house...and take her out for a romantic dinner....if shes busy buy her something shes bin most longing for

It really depends on how long you've been together and how close you are and how old you are!! And what kind of girl she is!
If its a few months get her something nice like a gift set of designer cosmetics/perfume/toilettries from Boots (they sell sets of things at christmas) They range from £20+. Dont buy her anything from the 3 for 2 range!!!!!
Or try lush and buy her a box set!
If its a year or so, what about a mixed CD (cliche but so nice!!) or maybe a photo album of all the pics you have of you two together (get them printed in black and white as its more romantic!
Or how about a piece of jewellary with your name/inital on it?

If you've been together a while you should know her pretty well by now, think of something really personal that only you and her know about! (nothing rude incase she has to open it infront of the family!!!!been there done that soooo not fun!!)
If shes a girly girl you cant go wrong with some makeup/perfume...BUT if your buying make-up buy her something nice like this -

Pleeeease dont go for the cliche chocs/nice necklace thingy!!!

i don agree with e perfume, smell is a very personal thing. only she will know which smell describes her best.
personally i think birthdays shldnt be without a cake. be it big or small. with a hug a kiss n tell her how much u love her n how happy u have her.
with a bigger budget u can get her another gift. is there anything that she casually mentioned, it's sweet to know u bother to take note of her daily rants/conversation. or get something that she'll use/can see everyday.
spend quality time together, away from e crowd, just e two of u. painting a picture of e both of u together? prepare dinner together with UR recipe? sing a song to her? play games n draw circles n stars on e loser's face using lipsticks/ NON-PERMANENT marker. after that take a picture to capture e moment.
laughter is good.

depends on how old she is if shes young 12-17 nothing too over the top...she might feel embarased no offense but recieving rediculous expensive gifts can look like you are trying to get into her pants...girls generally like shopping so a clothing voucher for her fave clothes store sum jewlery like a bracelet means not as much commitment...dress sumthing up like a box of chocies or a bunch of flowers by writing a love letter to go with it...if shes 18-30 then she will like purfumes and jewlery and more sophisticated things so go shopping with her if she picks up a pair of shoes to try them on shes interested in them...listen to her intently when she talks pick up on all the little things she mentions like tv serries or books (may seem a little boring) but that way youll get a feel for the humour type and tastes she has ...clearly you know her birth month maybe you could get a peice of jewlery with her birth stone or fav. colourd stone in it.

'ALL' girls like perfume.
Find something really exotic, sensual and reasonably priced.
Go shopping with her and secretly (being casual), try to get an idea of the type she likes.
If you've been to her house try to find what perfumes she has in her room or bathroom.
If she wears jewelry pay attention to the type she wears, women love jewelry too.
You really can't go wrong if you look for jewelry and/or perfume.

ask her to do a list of the things that she likes and then pick something from the list because then at least you'll know that she wants it.
