Unfortunately your salmon in no longer fit for human consumption and there is nothing you can do to make it edible.

There should be no foul odor from any fish you buy. The only scent there should be is that of brine...salt and sea. The eyes should be clear and bright. When lifted, the gills should be bright red underneath. The skin, taught and smooth as opposed to sagging and slimy.

For you own safety and that of your dining guest(s), please use the few common rules in purchasing fish listed above in the future.

Happy Holidays!!

If it smells rank and fishy, you have some bad salmon. Fresh fish should have a slightly fresh fish smell. I always ask to smell fish before I buy it and never buy packaged fish. The meat should be firm and have no seperation or cracks when it's bent/flexed. Buy the fish the same day you plan on cooking it, bring it home and rinse it in cold water, pat dry and wrap in plastic wrap until time to cook it.

If your salmon has a rank smell it is no longer fit for consumption. Throw it away and make something else. Fresh fish should have little or no odor or a slight smell of the sea.

sparkling fish has no smell. whilst it starts to sniff, that's not sparkling. If frozen at as quickly as after a capture, it won't smell the two once you're taking it out to apply. somewhat smell won't kill you. yet whilst it smells somewhat 'fishy', then do no longer purchase it or use it. you would be able to desire to be attentive to your fishmonger. some people now will rinse their fish in water and bleach answer to get rid of the smell so as that they'd attempt to sell it returned the following day. consistently %. up your fish and smell it once you purchase it.
