Not really, but he learned his false version of Christianity from an Ebionite (sometimes considered Nestorian) heretic.

When Muhammad was growing up, there existed two heretic branches of Christianity in Arabia which many Arabs embraced. These were the Ebionite and Nestorian branches. Muhammad's first wife's (Khadija) cousin, Waraqa bin Nofel was a pastor of the Ebionite "Church" in Mecca. Both of these branches falsely taught that Jesus Christ was not divine. This heretic pastor actually performed the marriage of Muhammad to Khadija, who was his cousin. It was Waraqa and Khadija who convinced Mohammad he was a prophet when Mohammad himself had doubts and thought at one point to commit suicide by throwing himself off a cliff when receiving the revelations that depressed his spirit through a being he called "Gabriel", considering himself "possessed" at one point.

It is interesting that Mohamad tried to return the Ebionite / Nestorian heresy back to Christians through violence and intimidation through his new religion of Islam which incorporated it as though it were a revelation from allah.

Why would God choose a Christian as a messenger to people who worship idols to tell them: "the Creator is the only one worth worshiping" ....? God chose a man who lived among idol worshipers but never followed in their lead. He (Mohammed) knew about Abraham who called for the one and only God.
When you see a person not corrupted despite of his society, it means he is pure.

Muhammad was NO Christian. By Muhammad's commands, Islam has been spread by the lie, the threat, the sword, the bullet and the bomb, never by peaceful missionary service. To revel in bloodshed and celebrate others' suffering is the hallmark of Satan, not Christ.
