A lot of phobias come from childhood experiences, or traumatic things that have happened in life, but some are just irrational with no basis, like peoples fear of spiders, they have probably never been hurt by a spider, but are scared anyway for no reason. Most of my phobias come from traumatic experiences, but I am also scared of anything that crawls (including spiders!) and heights!

That depends on one's circumsances & experiences, and one's reaction to them. Unpleasant or horrible experiences can becom their root, and further experiences that jog our memory of that specific root can trigger a reaction all over again. Children & even adults can begin to form phobias from something as serious & lifetheratening as physical or sexual abuse, or from something as foolish & aoidable as a horror movie!

well the various phobias i have came about due to things that happened to me as a child, like a traumatic expierence. otherwise, most people's phobias (by definition of the word) are irrational fears, mostly with no basis. i've even heard, and can believe, that some phobias are because of things that happened to you in past lives, or like due to how you died in a past life.
