She was killed by an Israeli bulldozer while engaging in nonviolent protest of Israel's practice of destroying Palestinian homes. This happened several years ago.
If the attitudes of those who criticize Rachel Corrie were held by African-Americans in the 1950s and 1960s, blacks would still be drinking from separate water fountains and sitting on the back of the bus.
Her death was murder, plain and simple. The claim that the driver of the bulldozer couldn't see her is a lie told by the state of Israel; the occurrence of the protest could not have been missed by anyone in the area.

I read the article on Wikipedia concerning her death. Plain and simple, she was run over like an animal for protesting the demolition of a house. Be it wise what she did or not, the responsibility llies in the driver of the bulldozer; visibility in one of those things is no less than that of a truck. Unless she ran directly in front of it, directly into the blind spot, there's no excuse.

She was run over by a bulldozer after lying down in a place where the operator could not see her.
Hopefully, she got a 'Darwin Award' for that stunt.

She is a hero to some and a traitor to others, but in the end, she is dead. Naive Idealism and misplaced zeal killed her.
