you can trim it with a pair of scissors.
if you are planning on shaving your scrotum, it's best to use a dry disposable razor. you can trim the longer strands first with a pair of scissors before you shave it.

Shaving one's scrotum is an art form that takes practice. I'd advise against doing it DRY. As far as your pubic bone, depending on your hair type you might just wanna trim that down, lest you look like you have a disease a couple days later.
Wax is always an option, though -- women do it, and they live. In some cultures, men who go through stuff like that do it to prove how manly they are.

Laser Hair Removal. You get a few (4-5) treatments and the hair is gone forever....you don't have to worry about self waxing, shaving or public waxing again.

WAX. It really isn't that painless, I hate pubic hair period, I dont have any, haven't for years, if you shave you will get a shaving rash and stuble, thats just nasty. Go and have the area waxed proffessionaly, then do it yourself, NAD's wax is the best, its cold wax and if you go wrong you can wipe it away with water (sugar based so it kinda dissolves) xx

Dude, I'm a girl, but I'd suppose you don't wanna wax (holy crap that'd probably suck for you) or use anything chemically based. Shave it away, at least then you can be careful about it.
