Rub VicksRub in your chest and your back, put a warm sweater on, and sleep like this. Also, mix 2 table-spoons of honey in a glass of very warm milk and drink it. It will help to unclog and clear out your bronchus. Hope you feel better soon!

You poor baby. Thank goodness you're not in you're 9th month. Sweetie? I had a bad congestive cough when preggie with my 2nd little girl. It lasted the whole pregnancy and when she was born, she was whisked away because my little sweetie had pneumonia. Honey, tell your doctor that you need a bit more agressive treatment. Sounds like you may have something a lot more serious than just a cough. I hope the best for you because you sure don't want to be like that later in your pregnancy. Every time you cough in the third trimester, you will pee your pants. Believe me, I know that for sure. Good luck and look into the cough. It could be deadly serious. Congratulations on your new baby. please, if you have to, get another doctor's opinion. Good luck and my prayers are with you. :)

as long as the cough is your only problem and your feeling better you should be fine. rember it takes twice as long to get over an illness when your are pregnant. drink lots of hot liquids to help with the congestion, milk based ones will just make it worse so try tea or chicken broth. use a humidifier and keep yourself elevated when you sleep. robitussin is good to use before bed because it will help you sleep, but during the day it will not work, sucking on any kind of hard candy will keep your throat miost and will help with your cough. and try to take a few days off of work and rest. good luck! i hope you feel better soon

Being pregnant you need to drink a lot of fluid, and to keep your mucus thin so you can cough it up you need to drink a lot of fluid as well. So make sure you are getting plenty of fluids.

If you have a humidfier or a vaporizer use it. Make sure you use them properly.

You might want to ask your doctor about using Mucinex.

Good luck on the cold. We had that coughing cold here about 2 months ago and it lasted over a month. It was the worse cold I ever had and my brother-in-law ended up in the ER twice, so be careful!

hot water, honey and lemon - to taste. And yes, you should check out natural remedies - no chemicals or drugs. Better for the baby.
For the chest cough you could try vics vapor rub. this might help.
also, keep warm (esp the chest area)
I'd also try a Scientology assist. I heard there's a person called a Volunteer Minister gives assists for those who need them.
(But I really have heard good things about the Scientology assists.)
