I tell them what I am looking for, and then tell them that they are in control of their own life. If they want me in their life, than that is their decision, not mine.
Then I take them to meet my friends.

By your actions everyday. Example: How you treat others. Manners, hygene, how well you take care of things. All of that. Goals, additude. Best way to do things is to pretend someone just asked you that question. How would you answer it??

In a relationship? By being there for them as much as possible, and by being honest with them, even when you think you might get in trouble for it. It also helps to be introspective enough to realize when you are and aren't being honest.

Give them some money, or spend money on them, taking them out to eat. That usually does it.

don't gossip and don't tell secrets.. it also helps if you are a reliable person - shows up when they say they will, does what they say they will...etc.
