Between french doors vs. sliding doors, which is more secure from burglary? which is more energy efficient/insulating?

Sliding doors are generally composed entirely from glass (except the frame) and would therefore be easier to break into than a solid wood french door set. So I think that French doors would be more secure. In terms of insulation, wood is a better insulator than glass, so wooden doors would be better than glass doors. So again, French doors would probably be better than sliding.

neither is more secure
unless the slider has been adjusted or is a newer anit lift attack, or has incorporated roller pin lock, the slider is about as secure as a french door, which is to say if someone is going in via a slider or french door they are going to either lift or break the glass and then get in.
as far as insulation, sliders are generally single pane, french double or triple, so french wins hands down in that category.

You can secure both with proper locks and door jams. Depends on the the thickness of the glass and if its double pane or not.
