Ok well my kitten keeps doing bad things like going in the christmas tree going on my gecko cage and all kinds of things. So when he is ever on my gecko cage i have done many things to disipline him such as like making a loud noise when he goes up there and squirting him with water and walkin up and telling him no or just taking him off the cage but whenever i do it he bites and scratches me. And even today this happened OK. So he was on the cage and i walked up to him and immideatly he ran onto the top bunk and i went to tell him no and he started to try to scratch my face and stuff. whenever i disipline him he kills me. even if it isnt my fault if he gets hurt or something he just attacks me... and he is always attaking people who come in my house like he jumps on your leg and claws it to death and if you walk by him he scratches you. but when he isnt inn his moods he is sooo sweet but just for no reason he attacks me...whats wrong with him?

You need to discipline this behavior also. A kitten should never be allowed to scratch and bite a human. Use a spray bottle of water and the word "NO" each time it tries it. Spray him in the face with the water. And well..........the Christmas tree. You just brought him the tree of his dreams with lights, balls, and all sorts of fun things to play with. Cats love to be up high, so the tree is perfect for him. You are such a wonderful owner. Try buying him a scratching tree just for him to claw and climb on. I think your problem will be solved. Good luck!

Your cat is normal, and he is exactly like my cat, whom I really love. Some male cats have a temperament like this, especially when they are less than a year old they are very naughty. With age and neutering he will calm down, I promise. But you must be firm and NOT try to touch him to discipline when he does this sort of things, he thinks you are just playing a rough game and he does worse, it's fun for him, he doesn't realize he's hurting you. Be firm saying NO, take him from where he is doing something bad and give him an alternative, like what he is allowed to play with. But don't expect him to stop wanting to do naughty things with the Christmas tree and the gecko. It's his nature, he's a cat. When you have a cat, you adjust, like we haven't had a christmas tree the last 3 years, and definitely we don't have pet birds, rodents or reptiles!!!

Nothing is wrong with him. He, like all cats just does what comes natural to him and right now, he's just a kitten so everything he's experiencing is new. Everything you've mentioned is natural; even attacking you if he thinks you're gonna squirt him again. My cat who is now 9+ years old was very rambunctious as a kitten; very high spirited with a mind of his own and a LOT of mischief in his heart. I got him neutered at 6 months and then got him a companion and he calmed right down. So, my advice to you is to first get him snipped. Next, you might think of getting him a pal, but even if you do nothing he'll grow out of it eventually. You might think about limiting the water bottle to only the worst infractions, though because if you use that tactic too much, it'll lose its effectiveness; he won't know why you're doing it, just that you squirt him with water frequently so you're a creature that he wants to avoid. Good luck!

P.S. Clark and Holly Dart are DEAD WRONG! Don't listen to or do anything they suggest. They know about as much about cats as I know about the ballet...and that's NOTHING! Just disregard their answers for your own good as well as that of your kitten. I repeat: THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOT ONE THING WRONG WITH YOUR KITTEN. PERIOD!

ok, about the discipline thing, your doing good. squirting a cat with the squirt bottle is a good way to discipline him. but sometimes, in your case, the kitten just isn't responding well to that. if you have ever done anything in the past like hitting your cat, stop now. your kitten may be acting the way he is because he doesn't fully trust you yet. give it some time. if he doesn't let up, then its time to get more help.

i've had cats all my life and I honestly don't know what's wrong with your kitten...you should consider finding a trainer that does house calls...there are lots of people that specialize in helping pet owners tame their pet's crazy ways...one thing you could try, although you might be reluctant to do it, is that when he does something bad or tries to scratch or bite you, grab him by the skin of his neck and sternly say no...i promise if you just grab the skin it won't hurt him, he'll writhe and wiggle and hiss and make a funny meow but it's usually an effective way of letting him know who's boss...if you just say no, or spritz him with water, or just move him, or do anything where he can easily get away from you then he's not learning his lesson...he needs to feel uncomfortable enough to not want to do those things so as to avoid gettin grabbed by the skin of his neck..i say he'll feel uncomfortable not because he'll be in pain but because cats hate feeling vulnerable or not in charge..maybe you've already tried this but if not, i'd give it a go...but definitely try to find a trainer specialized in cats...good luck!

does he have scratching posts and lots of toys? try having a couple boxes for him to play in, paper bags, kittens love that stuff. and it might help detour him from from the gecko cage. is he old enough to get declawed? if not, try to find a toy or something to keep his mind of scratching people. if all else fails, talk to a vet.

I have only had one cat that had any similar issues. I don't really know why your fixed cat behaves that way. I guess it's just like a person and that his personality. Maybe he needs a companion that he can wrestle and get out frustration on.

wow it seems like he has a real problem. it is very unusual to find such a hostile and aggressive kitten. my kitten was naughty but timid, and although he scratches me sometimes its because he was playing.
your ways of discipline has nothing wrong, so i don't see why he is not changing. i think it has got to with your cat's behavioral problems. maybe take him to the vet?
