I am so sorry to hear about your dog. But why don't adopt a dog from the shelter near you. Not only would you find a wonderful pet for your mom but you would also be saving his/her life. Everyone would be left with a "good feeling" Many shelters have the pets picture on their website so you could get a look at any which might tug at your heart. I know he won't replace your other dog but you wouldn't want that anyway......There are just so many good dogs needing homes. Something to consider.

I'm very sorry for the loss of your dog.
You could search on www.google.com for Yorkie breeders in your state/city that might have puppies available now/soon.
Or, you could search on google for Yorkie rescues in Washington. They may not have 8 week old puppies but they will have older, beautiful dogs there looking for a loving home to take them in.

Remember, if 'Alex Smith' has just died, how will your mum feel if you bring an attention-demanding puppy in the house straight after her pet of 6 years just died? She may not be ready for such a big "surprise" right after he just died.
Also remember that Christmas time is a very busy, loud, demanding time for families. How will a new little puppy feel if he/she is around so many people right after he has left his mummy? If you talk to your mum about getting a new dog, maybe consider getting it AFTER the NEW YEAR. Not only will the puppy feel so left out and so worn out right after Christmas, think about how much dogs HATE fire works?
