I was very close to killing myself a few weeks ago. I was minutes away from doing it. the pain i was in was so very deep the pain was awful. the only thing i could think of is death has to be better then living in pain all the time.
When your in pain you Just can't think right. you don't care what happens to your body or your soul you Just want to stop the pain. so if someone would have told me this instead of what Ken D told me I would have said who cares. instead Ken told me how to have peace without pain and with out trying to scare me into thinking i would suffer more. I know this does not make a lot of sense I Just wanted to try and give you a point of view from someone who came very very close to ending her life.
Please if anyone is thinking no one would care if you die please there is always one person who loves you. and if anyone needs to talk email me and i will try and help God Bless

How do you know that killing yourself will relieve your suffering and pain when God may very well insert .....
your soul into a brand new body destined for even more suffering and pain? Just something to think about.

SEVERANCE FROM THIS WORLD
Thou hast written of the severe calamity that has befallen thee -- the death of thy respected husband. That honorable personage has been so much subjected to the stress and pain of this world that his highest wish became deliverance from it. Such is this mortal abode -- a storehouse of afflictions and suffering. It is negligence that binds man to it for no comfort can be secured by any soul in this world, from monarch down to the least subject. If once it should offer man a sweet cup, a hundred bitter ones will follow it and such is the condition of this world. The wise man therefore does not attach himself to this mortal life and does  379 not depend upon it; even at some moments he eagerly wishes death that he may thereby be freed from these sorrows and afflictions. Thus it is seen that some, under extreme pressure of anguish, have committed suicide.
As to him rest assured; he will be immersed in the ocean of pardon and forgiveness and will become the recipient of bounty and favor.

Somewhat of a dumb comment... sorry.
No-one who is contemplating suicide is really thinking about such philosophical arguments, and those in despair deep enough to consider taking their lives are not concerned with any thoughts of another life to come.
Suicide is a state in which a person is in such deep pain (emotional or physical or both) that the only thought is the elimination of that pain. Some idiots would tell them "it's a permanent solution to a temporary problem". Exactly what the person considering suicide is looking for is that permanent solution. The thought of another life would only lead to the possibility that the next life would not include the present pain.
No models of afterlife, other than the prospect of some hell, guarantee that there will be greater pain. The concept of hell, used by many Christians as some threat to those considering suicide is ill conceived. Even among Christians, there is this consistent idea that suidice is something that someone chooses. They fail to realize that suicide is the final stage in a deadly disease called mental illness. It is not a rational decision, but one resulting from a thinking that has been altered by disease.
Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder and other mental illnesses can lead people to suicide. Religion, including Christianity, offer no real treatment to these disorders. Medication and psychotherapy help in most cases, but some resist treatment.
If you know someone considering suicide, please don't confront them with stupid statements such as in this question. Please help them by finding assistance, such as a therapist, community mental health center, etc. Religious arguments about the potential consequences aren't going to help... they will serve only to alienate you from someone who is seriously ill.
Please think folks.

That's exactly what happens. You simply reincarnate back into another physical body to deal with what you tried to escape. All karma must be lived out, no matter how many lifetimes it takes. Suicide is not an escape, it is simply procrastination.
Having said that, I do agree with Deidre ... this is not something you would discuss with a suicidal person, as they are not in a rational state of mind, and quite frankly don't care about any of the above. They would likely prefer to just end it all now and deal with whatever comes later. In their minds, nothing could be worse than what they are already experiencing.

Actually, when you die, you can actually inhabit the body of another person consciously. You're either placed into purgatory for 1 000 years, or stuck in the 9th plane with Bloody Mary for twice as long. Then you are free to roam about looking for another life on earth or stick around as a ghost or poltergeist.
The Mother Goddess and the God are the ones who tell you what you're going to do, not just.. god.. or.. what's the name again?

No.... you misunderstand the Scriptures......
If you have done evil, then God wont give you a new body at all.... You'll be resurrected like the rest of the world, but you'll be resurrected in the same old body you had....
What a scary thought, huh?..... To see the dead resurrected as the dead......
What good is an old body in a spiritual world?.......
It will be burned like the books no one reads anymore....... Worthless old books with no meaning... no purpose..... no where to go in a spiritual world......
Which is why your book must be worthy to read...... (Revelation 20:12)

Ginger

I do not think killing yourself relieves pain, I believe no matter what religion you are that we all are here for a purpose. Life is a purpose in itself.

well that you're asking when "God" may very well insert your soul...
Are you of the paradigm that believes in God?
If you are, then God to you means One particular entity, or part of a Holy Trinity, not an overall energy, or oversoul.
So, reincarnation is not really an option for you if you are of that paradigm, because it is not included in the doctrine of that particular faith.
I hope this helps. Generally, I try not to answer rhetorical questions, but this is answers.yahoo.com...not questions.withoutanswersanyonereallyknowsfor sure.yahoo.com.

well.. if i were christian, i wouldn't kill myself, as it's stated that suicide is an unforgivable sin. one way ticket straight to the burning fields. but... there is something else to consider. perhaps your faith is being tested. if you kill yourself, you've failed the test. but... if you get a new body, consider it a make-up test. even if the pain is more severe than your last life, your faith can be firmer, and you will, in time, come to understand that that is just something you will have to learn to live with.
