I'm an atheist, and I don't feel mistreated. However, since I moved to North Carolina (from Los Angeles), I don't talk about it openly like I did on the West Coast. People here are religious in a simple-minded way. They say they believe in God, yadda-yadda-yadda, but clearly don't spend a minute actually analyzing their faith or asking hard questions. They just mouth meaningless platitudes and call it a day. I don't want to upset their applecart, so I don't point out to them that the idea of God is kinda dumb....

I don't think people think that much about atheists. Most people have lives and they are living them. If you are an atheist, then just worry about yourself, not what others think, after all isn't that a part of being atheist? I don't think they are mistreated.

Do you think Christians are persecuted?

It can be viewed in both directions. I personally can respect that others don't share my views, but it sure would be nice if they would respect that I don't share theirs, too.

Some people (on both sides) just enjoy pushing other peoples buttons. It's a thrill or a payoff, to get a reaction. They are instigators and should be ashamed of themselves.... but that won't happen, as they have no conscience where that is concerned.

Bless you with good fortune and enjoy the holiday season for all the OTHER reasons.

i'm unsure if it relatively is an completely atheist view that would believe all those stances you reported. did no longer Prince William say that if given the possibility he could reincarnate right into a deadly disease to get rid of guy type? i could blame the overpopulation delusion and the fairway revolution for devaluing human life extra effective than the atheists.

Yes/No... They get just as much discrimiantion as Christians, and they need to except the fact that aethism is a religion... It takes faith to beleive that there is no spirituality in the universe and that everything is just here by accident... I thing people think of atheists as soulless, because thye don't have a spiritual side.
This is just stupid.

I won't say scum. But I have been treated like a hollow, empty, meaningless, lazy, loser.

Does that count?

Depends where you live i suppose. Its not the case in western European countries as we are secular. It seems to be the case in USA though.
