I am based in Sudan and am looking for somewhere expensive to get to but cheap when I get there (lower end of the scale accommodation etc). Long story why I want that but anyway I'm thinking Seychelles, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Indonesia or Thailand. I'm looking for a beach type holiday and want to stay near the beach. Which would you choose?

We recently went to Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) and Malaysian Borneo (Kota Kinabalu).
We loved it and can't wait to go back.
It's mega cheap once you're there and the hotels are amazing.

I've lived in the Seychelles for a year and visited Sri Lanka and Thailand. I can recommend all for different reasons. Seychelles is expensive, the other two are cheap. Seychelles is ideal for a beach holiday; safe, English-speaking friendly, non-racist people. I've never been to Madagascar or Réunion, but I've heard about both and wouldn't mind visiting them.

Forget Thailand to many tourists. Try Phililippines I go every year great beaches wonderful people and you can get good hotel room with on suite and air con on most islands for under £10 a night. Try Cebu,Bohol,Palawan you realy can't go wrong. And you will see genuine poeple and culture.I have more friends in Phi now than I have here in England! Visit www.wowphilippines.com

Indonesia is the cheapest of the lot. Thailand is cheap, but better for the Guys than the gals...if you know what I mean.

Try the Gili islands off of Lombok (next to Bali).

i would go to thailand, if you go to one of the islands like ko phi phi, the accomodation is cheap and right on the beach, nothing better than doing nothing on the beach to take your mind off everything.

phuket is not to bad but a bit crowded with tourists.

or if you want to stay on the main land krabi has some good beaches.

I would have to say bangkok, thailand, and singapore. They both have great places to shop and great food. Plus if your into beautiful beaches Thailand has some of the best in the world. Hope that helped =)
