well the law of this land (USA) prohibits any sexual abuse against a child, so nomatter if the person is on an indian reservation or claims religious freedom, they are still punishable under the law.
Id report it immediately to the authorities -- before that person does it to someone else

On Indian reservations, generally only federal and tribal laws apply to crimes on Native lands. However, per the Assimilative Crimes Act, violations of state law involving tribal members are considered federal crimes, and are investigated by the FBI.
Contact the local authorities to begin the investigation, and inform them that the perpetrator may now be found on Indian lands. Procedures are in place between state and federal agencies to handle things like this.

If the sicko molested someone off of the reservation(not a member of the tribe) than he can be delivered by the tribal police to the staters/sheriffs to be questioned and investigated by them. This sick F*ck has no safety within a tribe, if he did wrong before joining, and it was done off rez to a non-tribal member.
Go to the police, they will contact the tribal police, and hopefully the perv will go away for a very long time!

Your recourse is to appear before the tribal council and present your case.
On a reservation, it is only tribal law that matters. Not our laws off the reservation. In some ways it's incredibly unfair, in other ways, it works out.
You can search for someone versed in tribal law, and ask them about your possibilities of a successful prosecution.
Best wishes and good luck to you.

You would have to work through the federal government claiming jurisdiction if the action occurred before they changed citizenship status, plus contact tribal leaders, one fact about molesters is they usually will be tempted to repeat the crime, and that is frowned on in most societies and this person could end up in a ditch somewhere if he does that crap on a reservation and gets caught, especially if by a relative of the victim. Tipping them off could be far worse than anything the USA legal code is allowed to do about it. They will doubt you without proof, but the suspicion will be planted in their minds.

1st, he can't just "join" a Native American Nation. Sounds like he's trying to hide on the Rez. Call Tribal Headquarters. I bet they would love to deliver him to the nearest city/counter jail.

I'm not Native myself but let me tell you a little story. I used to live with a friend of mine she is Native. I wont say what tribe because I don't want to offend any one. We lived on the reservation. Her brother who also lived on the res molested both his daughters. He admitted to it. He had been molesting them for quite some time. The oldest was 13 the youngest was 5. You know what he got for punishment? A few WEEKS in jail yep a few WEEKS and now he's a free man. True story. Oh yeah and he got his kids back as soon as he was released.

Tribal law would rule when they were on the reservation but not if they leave it. Go to the tribal Police and ask them .
You could also petition the tribe to have the person extradited.

The Federal Government supersedes the tribal councils, I would seek advice from the FBI.
