Not sure that is 100% possible but an environmentally friendlier carwash is possible.

For starts pick a soap/ cleaners that do not have Phosphorus in them as this is a problem nutrient.

Another thing to do is to reuse the water as much as possible. This can be done by having pails of water with the soap and reusing this on the cars.

Keep the rinsing to a minium.

Hope that helps

The absolute BEST way to hold an environmentally safe car wash would be -- if at all possible -- to hold it at an established coin-operated car wash. Today's car washes have to adhere to some pretty hefty environmental standards that can't be matched by people washing cars in their driveways. Modern car washes have to have a separate catch tank for the water used as opposed to simply letting it run into the sewer system. Most of them use environmentally friendly soaps and degreasers, and a fair number of them even recycle the water.

Use natural non-toxic washing liquids. You can find them in organic supermarkets. Try to use as little water as possible. Do not use paper towels to scrub or dry off the cars. Use washable cloth towels. Good luck !!!

Collect rainwater and wash your car off with it using reusable shop towels.

Have it near grass so the water will flow into the lawn instead of the storm drain.
