I know it's hard for some people to swallow. Maybe (some) Christians tie Islam to terrorism because they're both in the middle-east, and they don't like the idea of terrorists worshipping their same God, who knows?

Anyway, I feel I need to point out that I'm not asking for anyones opinion of this, or whether or not it's true. I already know that it is. I just need some documentation to back that up, and it's hard to find... probably because of the reason I suggested in my top paragraph. If anyone knows where I can find evidence, or claims from reliable sources that the same God is worshipped, I's appreciate a link.

Actually, they aren't worshipping the same God.

Thogh Proto-Semitic, Islam was aimed at saying the Jews and Chirstians are wrong and worshipped the wrong image of God and the Christians are considered to be "idolaters" because they have the Cross.

Of course, they deny it, though it's a fact they worship a black meteorite stone that's enshrined in their Ka'aba; which still doesn't make them idolators?!?

Merry Crimbo!!!

PS,

That's why you won't get any evidence of that; except a quote from the Koran that says Allah gave Moses the Torah [which is actually much before Moses]; Jesus - the Injeel[Muslim version of the New Testament, which Jesus never wrote, anyway.] and Mohammad - the Koran[ even though he was an illterate].

No, Christians do worship the same God. But the problem is, They began associating partners with him such as God the Son, God the father and god the holy spirit. The person who you called "Holy father" or "god the father" in Christianty is actually Allah/Elohim. Muslims believe Jesus was the Messiah of israel, but they don't take him to the extent Christian believe him as being send for a mission as a heavenly christ or a son of god to take away the sins of the world.

To the muslims, the Messiah Jesus still reaffirms the " Shema Yisrael" which is the greatest commandments that is "the god of Israel is one". Yes, God still loves the Christians and Jews, That's why he send the Quran to Muhammad in order to solve the problem that the Christians and jews use to dispute about which is "the messianicship of Jesus and his nature".

The Quran confrims he is a Hebrew prophet and the messiah of Israel .The Jews can't accept the teachings of Islam because Islam teaches jesus as a hebrew prophet . Christians can't except the teachings of Islam for the same reason because Islam teaches Jesus as a Hebrew prophet !

To the Christian polemics, In which part of the Quran which says that "the people of the book" must convert or die ??? In which part ??? For your information, The disbeliever that the muslims wage war against during the time of Muhammad are the Arab Pagans of Mecca, not the people of the book such as the christains and the jews!

By the way, Jews don't believe in trinity because it is not in the book !!!

if Christians would read a few history books concerning the terrorist activities carried out in Jesus' name over the past 1500 yrs or so maybe it wouldn't be so hard for them to comprehend.

because Christianity, Islam and Judaism are all based in the Old Testament Bible and the Old Testament god encourages every kind of heinous thing from slavery to genocide all 3 religions tend to be very aggressive and often violent and cruel.

it just so happens that in this era Christianity is behaving in a more civilized manner due to the fact that it's being restrained by secular governments otherwise it would probably be running amok.

When Mohammad started to travel as a merchant he started to hear about the Judaism and the Christianity. Many of the ideas of both were adopted for him as many of the prophets, including Jesus. Perhaps the believing that Arabs are Ismael descendants and Ismael was the son of Abraham and an Egyptian slave and Yahweh prophesied to Abraham that big nation would come from him. Mohamed started to go to a cave were he had visions where the Archangel Gabriel talked to him, all his words were written in different things, then all this pieces were taken to form the Koran. The Koran called Christians, Jews and Muslims "People from the book" Even many of the words used by Muslims today still having Jews roots as "Salaam" in Jews is "Shalom" and so.

Well, If Allah's Prophet Muhammad defines Allah as the God of Abraham that should pretty much clinch the arguement. Islam, Judaism and Christianity all call on the same God.

THEY ARE NOT THE SAME GOD! people seem to say that because there are some similarities between descriptions of people that that the book was written by the same god!

1) the Christian God is a God of love who tells his followers to love their enemies but still tell the the gospel. while the Muslim god,Allah,
tells his followers to kill all who won't convert.

2) If in one book God said that Jesus was his son(and also God,because of the Trinity) don't you think that in the Koran that he would say the same thing!

the list is too lengthy for me to put in here.

Here is the text from the Holy Quran, Al-'Ankabut (The Spider)
29:46

And do not argue with the followers of earlier revelation otherwise than in a most kindly manner - unless it be such of them as are bent on evildoing [42] and say: “We believe in that which has been bestowed from on high upon us, as well as that which has been bestowed upon you: or our God and your God is one and the same, and it is unto Him that We [all] surrender ourselves.”

Wala tujadiloo ahla alkitabi illa biallatee hiya ahsanu illa allatheena thalamoo minhum waqooloo amanna biallathee onzila ilayna waonzila ilaykum wailahuna wailahukum wahidun wanahnu lahu muslimoona

You want proof ask the Christians who is your God if they answer this: My God is when I'm sick He is the one to cure me, If i ask for forgiveness He forgives me, He gives me shelter when I am in need, He is my creator, He is the one who gave me life and the only One that can take it away. If the Christians say yes that is what I worship as well. Then I believe we are talking about the same thing here. Also did you know that Allah is only an Arabic term for God.

You're almost, but not entirely right.
The issue a Muslim may have with that statement is the Roman Catholic idea of the "trinity".
According to Muhammad and the Qur'an is that there is one true god with one true name "Allah" (Arabic for 'the god'). Catholics and most Christians believe in God, the son, and the holy spirit. (one God in three persons) This is blasphemy to Muslims.
Your basic principle is correct though, they both refer to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

I think Christians and Muslims do. Ishmael and Issac were both promised great lands and people by the same God.
