You need to get it valued first.
Then depending on the valuation, decide where it's best to sell it.
The valuer will help identify the correct market, e.g. your probably not going to get top price for a French landscape at a fair in Scunthorpe. Never know though, but at a guess.

I would try selling it on ebay. You can set a reserve price on it to guarantee a certain bid amount. So you don't have to sell for insanely cheap price.
