My psych is closed until after New Years, how long do I let this sadness go on before I call for help. Part of this is I just went bsck to work and am very tired. Also my job that I lovedd just seemed to be a dead end. I am 53, single and the joboffers no prospect of retirement benefits. This is part of what is making me sad. I knowno other job skills to change careers. Help

Well, you will be able to get Social security at least so you will be able perhaps to get by on that but you need to develop a support group, online if necessary. If you are religious, for example, go to bigchurch.com and you will find someone to talk to and support you. You can go to everydaywomeneverywhere.org and all of us there are ready to talk to and support you as well.
You may need to get a good physical examination to make sure your diet isn't making you tired but most important, talk to someone if you feel out of control. This is the worst time of the year for even those not suffering from depression so it becomes worse for those who are.
I am co-admin at everyday women so I can assure you that you can contact me there or any of the rest of us and we sill give you all the support that we can!! Good luck to you!!

I would call someone even if you feel a little sad or feeling ok. It's always best to have someone to talk to when your'e going through things. I have been there too. It would be better if you had a friend to confide in. I am a Christian and a nurse, and I have been there. Hang in there. Try writing down all the positive things you like about yourself everyday. Also tell yourself positive things daily. Before you know it, you'll be back feeling good about yourself in no time. Keep your head up and move forward, you can do it and you are worth it. Take Care of you first, remember that. I'll pray for you tonight.
