You can not get a free credit SCORE unless you play the games (line on freecreditreport.com) where you sign up for their service, get your score, then cancel within 30 days.

The government only requires free credit REPORTS, which you can get from http://www.annualcreditreports.com

If you get your report, there are some places there you can estimate your FICO score.

No. Our wonderful congress finally required the three credit agencies to provide a free credit report, once per year. About 15 years too late, but they did not require the credit score to be included in that. So you have to join some plan, then get your score, then cancel your plan the next day. Read the fine print to make sure you can cancel. You may have to write in or who knows what else.
Go to FTC.gov, you can find a link for the credit reports.
