Microsoft do have a function like this, it is a macro, so you may need to copy it first to your VBE module window

Depends what kind of number you want to convert to what words, but you and either insert a function, or just go to view > replace, if you don't have a lot of variables.

You have to write your own function to accomplish that or just use the Add-ins to do it, I would suggest ASAP Utilities http://www.asap-utilities.com/news.php
a Free add-in that will do exactly what you need and much more.
